Norman Gene Macdonald

| |

36 years old (Oct. 17, 1963) -- Quebec City, Quebec

Norm began his stand-up career, more than 10 years ago, performing in comedy clubs throughout Canada. His first big break came from Dennis Miller, who hired Norm as a writer for his ill-fated, late-night talk show. After that, Norm became a writer on "Roseanne." In 1993, he joined "Saturday Night Live" as a featured player and writer. The following season, he became "Weekend Update" anchor and manned the desk until December 1997. Though, he belittles his effectiveness as a sketch comedian, his memorable impressions included Bob Dole, Larry King, Charles Kurault, David Letterman, and Quentin Tarantino. His final appearance on "SNL" was March 14, 1998 as Burt Reynolds.

Norm and his wife Connie [separated/divorced, depending on who you ask] have a young son named Dylan.

"Billy Madison" (1995), "The People vs. Larry Flynt" (1996) and "Dr. Dolittle" (1998). His first starring role was in "Dirty Work" (1998), a movie he also cowrote. He's set to appear in "Foolproof" and "Man on the Moon" in 1999.

You name it ... "The Tonight Show," "Late Night," "Late Show," "Politically Incorrect," "NewsRadio," "The Larry Sanders Show," "The Drew Carey Show " and "The Howard Stern Show." And, of course, his sitcom "Norm."
