 Nov. 17  The Fake News

LoveWill Jennifer Love Hewitt's breasts jiggle their way ahead of Norm once again? In June, "Dirty Work" and "Can't Hardly Wait" battled for teen moviegoers. Cleavage prevailed. This time, the front lines are drawn at your local video store, as both films hit the shelves today. Swelling with popularity, Hewitt's breasts are currently starring in the disturbingly successful "I Still Know What You Did Last Summer." Meanwhile, Our Hero has kept a low profile. "How can I help?," you ask. Rent the video. Tell your friends to rent the video. And, specifically ask your video clerk for "Dirty Work" (Jack Warden, Chevy Chase, Don Rickles, Artie Lange, Traylor Howard and other surprise stars.) Yeah, sure, you know where it is, but ask for it by name. Word of mouth is critical. Not enough Macdonald propaganda for you? Well, we're pleased to announce that MGM has supplied us with copies of "Dirty Work" to be given away in our Caption Contest (Hey, not so fast, all our copies have now been given away. -N! 12/8).

Rolling StoneNorm on the Clinton scandal: "I like this story because I can understand it. I've never heard anyone discuss the economy in my entire life. I don't understand the economy or the deficit or any of that shit. People talk to me about this. I don't know why people are saying they want to discuss other things in the news. People criticize the way the media is covering this whole story, but I like it because it's dirty sex everyday -- it's really got me reading the newspapers again. That videotape was so surreal -- it was crazy and fun. I don't think you could really satirize it; it's beyond satire now. I always told people not to vote for Clinton -- that the second term would be crazy."

JACKASSLet's join hands and collectively laugh our hineys off. The Weasel (aka. NBC West Coast President Don Ohlmeyer) will leave NBC by the year's end. Ohlmeyer, bosom buddy of O.J. Simpson, is the comedy genius responsible for removing Norm from "Weekend Update." NBC Entertainment President Warren Littlefield will also step down. Littlefield was replaced by Scott Sassa, who joined NBC last year after running Turner Broadcasting's entertainment division. The Weasel's contract expires next year, when Sassa will likely assume his duties as well. Ohlmeyer is said to be weary at the tough new business climate at the networks brought on by steadily declining viewership. NBC would not say what he'll do next.

Oct. 9  Ain't It Cool News

KAUFMAN FIGHTA mysterious source has shed light on Norm's role in next year's Andy Kaufman biopic, "Man on the Moon." Brace yourselves. He'll be playing Kramer. Well, close -- Michael Richards. So says the online gossip/news publication "Ain't It Cool News." You see, Cosmo used to be on ABC's short-lived, sketch-comedy show "Fridays." And, when Kaufman guest-hosted the show (February 20, 1981), he intentionally broke out of character during the final sketch of the live broadcast. Richards then walked off stage to retrieve the scene's cue cards, then threw them in the face of a seemingly disoriented Kaufman -- an act that set off a fury of school-yard-brawl type activity [pictured above]. The malay made headlines and television history. Will Jim Carrey (Kaufman) and Our Hero (Richards) be able to recapture the genius of that moment? We'll see. For more info on the actual event visit "The Andy Kaufman Home Page."
